Chromatic dragons, led by Harkiel the Bender, reach the Dragon Isles and steal the Metallic Dragons' eggs. The dragons flee and hide the eggs beneath the Lords of Doom.
As the Chromatic Dragons fled, one Black Dragon drops a bronze egg. The egg is found by the druid L'Indasha Yman, who cares for it and names the hatchling Oliver when he emerges from the egg in the spring of the following year.
