Anishta (? AC – 349 AC) was a female Human and a Dragon hunter that operated in Southern Hosk during the Age of Despair. The female was a priestess of Hith who was born in Thenol, where local politics prevented her from rising further in the church hierarchy. Instead she turned her hand to dragon hunting to gain enough treasure to fund her political aspirations. She was a tall woman with long black hair, brown eyes and lightly tanned skin. Anishta was fearless and a skilled liar, who liked to control situations and people as much as possible. The priestess greatly preferred city life over being in the wilderness, and achieved any task quickly and efficiently so as to return to civilisation. She was strong-willed, but also quite superstitious, and carried a number of talismans and amulets with her. In battle, she always wielded her magical mace Shadowcaster.
By 348 AC, Anishta had already formed a band of dragon hunters who operated successfully in Southern Hosk. Under her leadership, the hunters travelled to Sharlan Park, where they slew three young hatchlings, cultivating their ears and moved onto Haslit. The hatchlings were under the protection of Lord Leonid Althen who hired and sent a group of adventurers after the hunters.
In the town of Haslit, the hunters intimidated the locals, and eventually set fire to the village, leaving it to burn. Anishta and her comrades journeyed through Spindle Gap and the Deep Forest, killing several Pseudodragons on the way. They ultimately reached the Pillars of the Moons, where they set an ambush for the adventurers that they learned tailed them. However the hunters were trapped by the magic of the pillars for eight weeks, until they were freed during a triple lunar conjunction.
At this time, Anishta and her fellow hunters faced off against the adventurers, but were defeated. The injured priestess revealed the plans of the dragon hunters and was left for dead by the adventurers. However the goddess Erestem saw potential in the priestess, recruiting Anishta to lead her evil minions in a planned assault on the Othlorx. In 349 AC, Anishta led the dark forces against the Othlorx at Eborium, however with the aid of the same band of adventurers who had previously defeated the priestess, the dark army was broken. Anishta was killed during the final battle.
