Balif's Home was the Silvanost home of Balif Thraxenath, constructed by the order of Silvanos Goldeneye in gratitude for Balif's many years of service to Silvanesti.
Description[]
Balif's home was an imposing building made of white marble, alabaster, and crystal, even though Balif's needs were simple and he didn't want something so big. The facade was all flutes and flying buttresses that gave the house a look that it could pick up and fly away. It was also surrounded by fronds that were completely made of glass, modeled after the fronds from the Silvanesti coast. The leaves were razor sharp and would cut anyone to ribbons that ran through them. They were so realistic that they would even bend in a breeze. All of the doors and windows are protected by a powerful ward that will warn the owner of the home of intruders.
A large area in front of the house was paved and large enough to parade a company of infantry. Stone benches, made from the hardest purple porphyry, dotted throughout this area. An ornate door with a brass knob led into the home from this plaza. The house was different than many others in the elven capital. Oil lamps lit the home, while others in town used magical means.
Inside was a great hall, and a great central stairwell that went to the second floor. There was located the sleeping quarters for servants and guests. The upper hall was so big that two hundred servants used to live and work there. Down the mammoth corridor upstairs were marble and bronze statues that flanked the entire hallway.
