The Battle of the Kharolis Mountains was a battle that took place during the Third Dragon War in 1021 PC. The exact location of the battle is unknown, but it took place in a river valley with the best guess close to Kayolin.
A patrol of three dozen Knights of Solamnia were patrolling a river valley when they were set upon by one thousand ogres led by Delmarkiam Slashmaster. The ogres quickly surrounded the knights and they took down half their number, but more than that in ogres were slain by the knights. Suddenly from the sky a group of Metallic Dragons with knights on back with Dragonlances descended upon the ogres. The ogres were quickly routed and scattered into the mountains and plains.
