Borlos (? AC - ? AC), or Bor for short, is a short and wiry Abanasinian human minstrel and was a well known fixture around the Inn of the Last Home for years with his friends Clemen and Osler at their usual table near the kitchen. As a minstrel, he knows how to play many songs including The Lady of Thelgaard and My Love Came Sailing Home on his lute. He was also very proficient with a stiletto.
Dezra's Quest[]
When Caramon Majere went in search of his daughter Dezra Majere, Borlos and their friend Uwen Gondil decided to go with into Darken Wood, and Borlos even commented that maybe they will create a ballad from this. Eventually they meet up with the centaurs and find Dezra, and end up in the village of Ithax. There they hear the tale of Soulsplitter by Olinia and Borlos becomes quite smitten with her.
Borlos meets a dryad named Pallidice, and she enchanted him causing Borlos to chase her. She eventually gets him back to her tree, where she then pulls him in trapping him. Dezra attempts to free him with a torch, but Pallidice doesn't let go until Trephas arrives and convinces Pallidice to free him. They are then able to continue on the quest.
They finally arrive at the Dark Tower, and through some trials are able to get Soulsplitter. But in the process, Dezra wakes a stone golem that attacks them. The golem attempts to drag Dezra down, but through the combined efforts of Caramon and Trephas they are able to keep her up until Trephas can use Soulsplitter to cut off the other arm of the golem, freeing her.
Grimbough was constantly changing the forest, even changing Pallidice's tree. This in turn changed her into something that wasn't as beautiful as when Borlos first saw her. But he realizes he still loves her, no matter how she looks. Also, while being around Dezra more often, he realizes that the crush he used to have on her for the last year is no more. It was because of this crush that he came on the quest. He realized she is hurtful and his opinion of her has dropped completely to not liking her much at all. So after the defeat of Chrethon, he decides to stay with the centaurs as their minstrel. He will take on apprentices to teach his craft. He wants to be with Pallidice and to live in Gwethyryn for a few years (which could be centuries on Krynn), being invited by the sprites. As he has no family to return to in Solace, he plans on spending the rest of his time in Darken Wood.
