Coldhope was a small fiefdom located in the province of New Styrllia of the Imperial League. The area was set on the northern coast of the League, along the Tiderun Strait and was between the eastern town of Faroen and the western city of Thera, directly across the Strait from Malton. Coldhope was a broad swath of farmland that had a series of small villages spread throughout and was governed by the Baron of Coldhope, who resided in Coldhope Keep. The fiefdom was also responsible for controlling the portion of the Tiderun Strait on its border, dealing with pirates and taxing the shipping traffic.
The people of Coldhope were primarily farmers and fishers who tended herds of sheep and goats, cultivated crops of longroot and barley, and fished the Tiderun Strait. They lived in thatch-roofed limestone cottages and the largest settlement was a small town set around a tor at the base of Coldhope Keep.
Following the death of Emperor Rekhaz An-Thurn at the hands of Barreth Forlo, Baron of Coldhope, in 424 AC, vengeful minotaurs destroyed both the keep and the settlements of Coldhope. The remains were defaced with graffiti stating regicide and traitor were the reasons for the fall of the fiefdom.
