The Coral Oracle was the fifth and favorite concubine of Sullento the Profane in Itzan Klertal just before the Cataclysm. She was a seer and used her prophecy powers to aid Sullento in ruling the city.
The other concubines envied her and turned Sullento against her, convincing him that she was a fraud and a wizard she saw secretly was responsible for making her predictions come true. Sullento had his court wizard curse her so that she could never leave the throne unless freed by a human, then Sullento impaled her to the throne with a harpoon. He knew that no human would dare release her while he lived. The Cataclysm happened soon after as she foretold. The Oracle remained cursed and became undead, stuck in the ruins under the New Sea.
Over the centuries, she and the throne became overgrown with vivid orange coral and barnacles. Only her head could freely move.
She had many aquatic creatures visit over the years but only three surface dwellers. A demon, summoned by Belize came to retrieve the spellbook of Harz-Takta the Senseless. The dark elf Ardn Amurchin visited and took a special interest, coming up with the name Coral Oracle and making a model of Itzan Klertal in his exotic fish tank. Ardn told Lyim Rhistadt about the Oracle when Lyim was searching for a cure for his snake arm. Lyim visited the Oracle and removed the harpoon, releasing the Oracle from her curse. She left Itzan Klertal to find the souls of the four concubines and enact revenge.
