Dermount Portal was a north gate in the city wall of Daltigoth and opened into the district of Old City. The gate was two thirty foot tall pillars with two iron doors between. The doors were engraved with scenes from the lives of the Dermount Emperors of Ergoth.

The gate got its name from Ackal II Dermount. As an old man the emperor left to fight the Wak-shu. As he was leaving with his army out the north gate he declared that he would return victorious or be buried where he fell. The emperor then fell and died. His wishes were honored and the emperor was buried under the gate.

After the Ogres took over the city they wielded shut the iron doors and made a new ironwood door inside them. The new door was ten foot tall. It was rarely used and looked over Lake Morgash and was near the ruins of Inner City and the Broken Stretch district in the city.
