The DiThon Fiefdom is a region on the southern coast of Northern Ergoth. It includes Castle DiThon, Thonvil, and Stonecliff (sometimes called "The Monolith"). It's eastern border reaches Huldre Bay and the Durris River which separate the holding from Hillfort. The western border with Redicvil and Gwynned is not known. The holding is under the authority of the Emperor of Ergoth in Gwynned. It does not have a port and is not part of the famed Ergothian sea-faring tradition, but it is very proud of it's Ergothian Cavaliers.

History[]

Castle DiThon appears on pre-Cataclysm maps. After the Cataclysm, the castle overlooked the sea between Northern and Southern Ergoth. The village of Thonvil was founded after the Cataclysm. Not much documentation exists about the Fiefdom before the early 300s AC when Rejik DiThon became lord, or after the 350s AC when Bram DiThon became lord.

Rejik was loved by his people and was proud of his holdings. He was known to have good business sense and increased his holdings during his reign. Before he became lord, he was a Cavalier who adventured with his friend Wilor. They were both reverential to the Blue Phoenix (the local name of Habbakuk). Rejik had one son with his first wife, an Ergothain noble, before she died of influenza. Eighteen years later, he re-married and had three more children before his new wife died in childbirth. Rejik died soon after.

Cormac became lord after that. He had already had two children with a Solamnic noble and raised his three orphaned siblings. Cormac was an alcoholic and was bad at business. During his reign, the fiefdom went deep into debt and sold many of it's holdings. This led to conflicts with his neighbors and alienation from most of his family as he tried to use threats and marriages to restore the fiefdom. He died before he turned 50 and was given a pre-Cataclysm style Ergothain cremation at his request.

Bram became lord after that, around the beginning of the War of the Lance. He led a revival of the fiefdom and caught the attention of the Emperor. Every early in his reign, he left for two years to understand his ancestors and learned magical skills. After the death of his aunt and uncle, he returned to Castle DiThon. At the time, he was considering joining the Wizards of High Sorcery as a White Robe.
