The Dome of Creation is the home of the gods of Light, in the Outer Planes of the Cosmology of Krynn. The dome was originally built to protect the world of Krynn from the often turbulent storms that would rage within the Ethereal Sea, and is the source of positive energy for the world. Following the creation of the Dome above the world of Krynn, The Abyss was constructed by the gods of Darkness, and provides the foundations for the Dome itself. Both domains have effectively become tied to the other, and if one was to completely fall, the other would cease to exist.
All the good gods have a home within the Dome of Creation, except for Solinari who chose to dwell in The Gray back in the Age of Dreams. Even though Solinari is no longer present in the Dome, the power of his moon is ultimately sourced from the Dome of Creation. From its creation up until the War of Souls, it was governed by the god Paladine. Following the fall of Paladine, Mishakal now governs the Dome. The gods all watch over the affairs of their mortal children from the Dome. It is near impossible for a mortal to enter the Dome of Creation, except via the singular breach point, the Gate of Souls, or the direct intervention of one of the gods.
Beyond the gods, there are countless creatures that dwell in the Dome of Creation including archons, lantern archons, celestial animals, eladrins, lillends, angels, and guardinals.
