The Fellowship of Coral are a chain of coral islands in the Courrain Ocean. They are scattered over 10,000 square miles. The islands are owned by the Dargonesti Elves of Watermere.
The islands are inhabited by two cultures of Humans. The first group are people originally from Taladas. They are mostly from Eragala of the Imperial League or the Hoor People of Armach. The other group are humans that migrated from the tropics. They are a primitive people that the Dargonesti Elves call the Akatabey. The humans all pay rent to the Dargonesti for use of the islands. The islands are governed by a council that is made up by representatives from all the populated islands. They meet every seven days.
The Fellowship of Coral may have relation problems with the Dargonesti but they have worse relations with the Dimernesti Elves.
Age of Dreams[]
In 1530 PC, Humans migrated to the islands. The Dargonesti asked them to leave but the humans fought the sea elves. The two races fought each other for nine years. The sea elves used great restraint against the humans and eventually the humans decided to negotiate. The elves decided to allow the humans to stay in return for rent, deals on trading for surface goods, and a promise that the humans would not trade with other undersea races.
Some of the humans fought with the Dargonesti and merfolk during Sagarassi’s first war in the years between 1320 PC and 1200 PC. When the war was over the humans expected to be given some of the islands or at least lower rent, but the Dargonesti did not see the logic in this since Sagarassi was also a threat to them as well. This caused sore feelings with the humans.
Age of Despair[]
After the Cataclysm, the humans suffered. They hoped the Dargonesti would help them but the sea elves did not even go to the Minglings to collect rent. The humans did not hear from the sea elves until 12 AC. The elves declared that the original agreements were to continue. The humans did not participate in the second war with Sagarassi and they were not asked.
In the years after the second war with Sagarassi, the merfolk started making contact with the humans and setup trade relations. The merfolk hoped to make an alliance with the humans to force Watermere to lower their taxes to the Corridor of Glory. The humans trading with the merfolk broke the original agreement with the sea elves. It is unknown how Watermere handled the break of contract.
Also during this time, Sagarassi began to try to manipulate the humans. She appeared to them as a magical elf from across the sea and claimed that the Dargonesti are her descendants. Sagarassi was planning on poisoning the humans against the Dargonesti.
