Half-elves are born of the union between a human and an elf. They are usually considered outcasts in both human and elven societies.[1]

Although half-elves inherit mostly the physical characteristics of their elven parents, they tend to be slightly stockier than elves. Also, unlike elves, they are capable of growing facial hair.[1]

Half-elves inherit both the ambition of humans and the love and respect for nature of elves. However, due to the prejudice they suffer, it is common for half-elves to grow introspective, rebellious, and insecure.[1]

After Kith-Kanan directed the Qualinesti elves towards a more tolerant disposition with other races, elves and humans have more frequently fallen in love with each other. However, in the years after the Cataclysm, it was very common for human bandits to rape elven women in the vicinity of Qualinesti territories.[1]
