Haraineer (? - ca. 9000 PC) was the first Bronze Dragon and one of the five Daughters of Paladine.
Biography[]
Haraineer dwelt in sea caves on the southwestern coast of Ansalon and delighted in the waters. During this time, she encountered a silvery fish with platinum scales (believed to be Paladine) with whom she mated, and the result was a clutch of four bronze eggs. These eggs were then given to Aurora in the High Kharolis Mountains for safekeeping. Haraineer was in bliss amongst the water, which also proved to be her downfall.
When the Sons of Takhisis rose against the good dragons, they came upon Haraineer as she frolicked in the surf. Four of the Chromatic Dragons attacked her with talons and fearsome breath weapons, predicting that she would flee to her sea cave to escape them. The cunning black dragon Corrozus lay in wait within her lair to continue the attack as she entered, having already laid scalding acid around the entrance of the cave. It was Akis who finally claimed the life of the dying bronze, creating a necklace of bronze scales from her corpse.
Of Haraineer's four eggs, only two survived. Her children were the bronze male Burll, and the bronze female Aysalliar.
