The Highlund Valley was a great bowl in the Icereach Range where all the gold mining for Winterheim took place. There were vast deposits of gold here, and it was easy to access due to there being no snow in the valley from all the excessive heat from the mining and smelting. Following the Cataclysm this area was completely buried in snow and ice.
