The Hillhome Highway also known as the Passroad was a road that ran from the base of Sky End's Peak to a small fishing village, Salmonfall, on the Newsea. It was built by the Neidar dwarves of Hillhome and was a paved road. Hillhome had complete authority of who traveled on the road and merchants needed permission before they traveled on it.
This road was originally a smuggler's trial for mountain dwarf merchants who created a secret entrance out of Thorbardin and traveled along the path to new markets. The Council of Thanes discovered the entrance and they sealed the entrance, which caused the road to come to a dead end. Dwarven engineers worked on the problem and concluded that the road could possibly be connected to Northgate.
