The Horselords (also known as Nordmaarian Horselords) are several nomadic Human tribes that dwell in the northern nation of Nordmaar. The Horselords are close cousins to the Nordmen, except whilst the Nordmen traditionally live in the cities of Nordmaar, the Horselords live in the open prairies of the Southern Wastes. They are a tough and resilient people, who only live in one fixed city, the city of Wulfgar, and are led by the Khan of the Southern Wastes. Until recent times where the Khan and the King of Nordmaar are the same individual, the Horselords offered only limited support and respect for the king, preferring to be led by the Khan.
The nomadic Horselords spend their winter in the lowlands near the Great Moors, and the warmer months near the slopes of the Khalkist Mountains. Whilst the Nordmen have capitulated relatively easily in the past to various conquerers including the Red Dragonarmy, Knights of Takhisis, and even the hordes of Chaos, the Horselords have always been defiant against their enemies. They have spent every waking moment fighting against their oppressors and never back down. Because of the constant fighting against invaders over the last few decades in particular, the Horselords are generally suspicious of outsiders.
Characteristics[]
The Horselords are tall and muscular, with black hair and skin of an olive complexion. Occasionally amongst the riders, are born children with blonde hair and bright green eyes, who are treated with relative scorn by their peers until adulthood where they are accepted. Horselord tribesmen often wear leather clothing decorated with precious stones, and they favor the use of scale mail armor in battle.
