Janissiron Tylocostathan (? PC - ? PC) was a male Silvanesti Elf of House Protector. He was known as Tylocost among Humans. Tylocost was homely by the standards of his race and of those of others. He had dull gray hair, a long thin nose, uneven teeth, and his body was covered in freckles. Tylocost had nice pale blue eyes, but they were also too close together. As a general he was known for taking risks. His favored topics were history, politics, warfare, food, and gardening. He was known to be proficient in all Weapons.
Tylocost's ancestors on his father's side were advisors and generals for Silvanos himself. His grandfather, Amberace Tylocostathan, fought in the First Dragon War.
Early Life[]
Tylocost's father was an advisor for the Speaker of the Stars Silvanos. He met his future wife Iyajaida Tylocostathan at court. She had mysterious origins that no one knew but after fighting off other suitors they had a son together. The baby was born ugly by many standards and Iyajaida vanished after his birth. Many believed she left due to shame of her son's looks. Tylocost would continue to be persecuted for his looks by his people.
General for Tarsis[]
At some point Tylocost left his homeland as was hired by Tarsis to lead their army in Hylo against the Empire of Ergoth. This was the first time the elf ever felt wanted. Tylocost was a skilled general and had great success against the empire in Hylo winning victories including the Battle of the Capes. At that battle Tylocost defeated eight times as many Ergothians as he had men. His forces were impeded by the marauding XimXim and shortly afterward Tylocost was defeated by Tolandruth at the Battle of Three Rose Creek.
Prisoner of Tolandruth[]
Tolandruth showed the elf great respect which Tylocost noted as being the only person to ever truly do so. Tylocost agreed to Tolandruth's terms: that he would go and stay wherever Tol sent him and he would not take up arms. Tolandruth sent him to Juramona where the elf stayed as a gardener until 2395 PC.
This all changed when the nomads from the east invaded the Empire of Ergoth. The nomads burned Juramona to the ground. Tylocost left the city during the battle with a Half-Elf Ranger named Zala Half-Elven. Zala was searching for Tolandruth who had been banished from the empire for six years. Shortly after leaving the city the pair met up with Tol. Tylocost would then fight alongside Tolandruth as he mobilized forces against the invading nomads until their defeat. During these conflicts Tylocost began to quietly have feelings for Zala.
After the nomads were defeated Tolandruth set his sights on Caergoth. During the taking of Caergoth, Zala was killed. Tylocost buried her with her father on a hill near the city where he sang the Wath-Ranata for her. Soon later Tolandruth asked the elf to take the Pakin heir Mellamy Zan out of the city and to keep her safe in case he needed the political support of the Pakins. Tol then absolved Tylocost of his promise to him and said he was free with the last duty of protecting Mellamy. Tylocost found the Pakin heir and convinced her to accept his protection.
Masked General[]
It is unknown exactly what happened to Tylocost after he left with Mellamy. It is possible and likely he was the masked general for Mellamy's forces when she took the throne of Ergoth.
