Dragonlance Wiki

Jengar (? AC - ? AC) was a male Human that was very tall, large, haggard, had a well-traveled look, and was a veteran of the War of the Lance.

Fool's Gold[]

Prior to the War of the Lance, Jengar was a Blacksmith. He joined to drive back the Dragonarmies and fought in the Two Wars, Battle of Armada, and Siege of Castle Dire. He, along with many other veterans, always inflated what they did in the battles but it wasn't anything someone would call heroic. After the war was over, he attempted to go back to smithing, but found he couldn't focus on his craft.

So in 354 AC, he along with Quick Eddie and two other companions hatched a plan to travel to the lair of a dragon and steal some of its horde. He fought the dragon and lost, but his two other companions fled in fear, while Quick Eddie's clothes was set aflame and he ran away. He was cursed to always tell the truth, if he does lie bad things will happen. Also, Fool's Gold must travel with him, and if he tries to get rid of Fool's Gold, bad things will happen.

By 355 AC, he had come to accept the dog as his mooch, but had to move on from Trentwood for telling people the truth too much. He made his way to the Wolf's Head Inn in another barony, and agreed to help a local baron by looking into a gnome problem. There he met Tug and his apprentice Lexi and was convinced they were not a danger to the barony. When he went back and told the baron that, Fool's Gold was put in a magic bubble and he would die in it unless Jengar got rid of the gnome menace

Jengar returned and agreed to help the gnome and his apprentice to finish their project so they could move on. The project was the Sea Dragon, which Tug then presented to the people of the barony. After a successful test run, the baron demanded to take it out. Jengar and Tug advised against him doing this, but he demanded. And so off he went, and all watched as the Sea Dragon flew out into the sea never to be seen again. Jengar was able to free Fool's Gold, and he was last seen enjoying himself at the Wolf's Head Inn.
