The Lost Tower of High Sorcery is a minor demiplane which is linked to the Ethereal Plane. The demiplane houses a long forgotten Tower of High Sorcery which was originally raised during the Age of Dreams, and rumored to hold considerable magical secrets. The tower was discovered during the Age of Might by the Kingpriest of Istar, and ordered to be destroyed. However a renegade mage by the name of Spyranus instead chose to claim the tower for his own.
Wizards of the Orders of High Sorcery attempted to bring the renegade to justice, so as not to bring down the ire of the Kingpriest, however Spyranus resisted and a magical battle ensued. With the resulting powerful magic battle, the tower and the renegade were accidentally thrown into a vortex which thrust them into the Ethereal Plane, as well as through some of the elemental Inner Planes. The end result was that a demiplane was formed which housed the Lost Tower of High Sorcery, and the renegade mage was somehow fused with the tower, enabling him to live on through the tower.
In 359 AC, Par-Salian, Ladonna and a band of heroes located the Lost Tower of High Sorcery, and battled for survival against the enraged Spyranus. Finally the elf Kalthanan managed to defeat the renegade mage, and claimed his place as the Master of the Tower.
