Mackeli (2252 PC - 2192 PC) was a Silvanesti Elf who was under the care and protection of Anaya, Keeper of the Forest. He was described as being slender and with bone-white hair and brilliant green eyes. In his youth, when spent with Anaya, he bore war paint and acted in the same manner as a Kagonesti Elf. He had the ability to speak with animals, and was every bit as stealthy and agile as a Kagonesti.

Early Life[]

The baby Mackeli was born to Silvanesti elf farmers, but was stolen away by the Kagonesti elf Anaya. The Kagonesti was seeking a female baby to be raised as her successor, and in her haste she did not realise he was in fact a male. Anaya decided to raise Mackeli as her "brother" and trained him in the ways of the forest.

Kith-Kanan[]

In 2193 PC, Mackeli encountered the Silvanesti prince Kith-Kanan, when he found the prince drowning in a quagmire pool. The youth tied a belt around a branch and tossed the other end to Kith, allowing the prince to pull himself out. Mackeli then led Kith back to his forest home that he shared with Anaya. In the weeks following, Mackeli undertook training Kith the ways of the forest, and taught him how to be far more stealthy and agile. On a trip, Mackeli was captured by the human soldiers of Voltorno and about to be enslaved, when Kith rescued him. On their return to Anaya and Mackeli's home, Kith spent time training Mackeli how to fight, and the two became firm friends. When Anaya and Kith declared their love for eachother, Anaya finally told Mackeli that she had stolen him as a baby. Mackeli accepted the news, considering that living in the forest was the only life he had ever known.

Mackeli continued to develop into a man, but his world was forever changed with the reappearance of Voltorno and his men in 2192 PC. The soldiers captured Kith, but Mackeli and Anaya managed to evade them. The pair then pursued the soldiers, systematically killing them all. Mackeli then witnessed Anaya face off against Voltorno and the pair delivered mortal blows to eachother. He went with Kith to carry Anaya to her sacred grove, and watched her pass into the next life and become an oak tree.

Silvanost[]

When Kith felt compelled to return to Silvanost, Mackeli willingly went with his friend, eager to see the famed elven city for himself. Mackeli was awed at the majesty of Silvanost, as well as with some of the elven maidens, such as Hermathya. However when Kith was asked to form the Wildrunners into a militia to patrol the elven lands, Mackeli went with him. On the militia's first trip out of Silvanost, it was ambushed by a troupe of Assassins. The assassins were defeated, but not before they killed young Mackeli.

Mackeli was laid in a simple grave on the banks of the Khalkist River, and Kith planted the spring from Anaya's Tree on his grave.

Other Names[]

His close friends Kith-Kanan and Anaya also knew Mackeli as Keli.
