Makaralonga (? PC - ? PC) was a fierce warrior and the chieftain of the Dom-Shu tribe of the Great Green. Known as a lion on the battlefield, he was also a proud man, and had two loyal daughters, Miya and Kiya. Makaralonga was described as a powerfully built man, who had long blond hair and a thick blond beard, as well as startling blue eyes.
The Great Green Conflict[]
In 2416 PC, he rallied his tribe to raise arms against the Ergothian forces who invaded the Great Green and successfully routed most of their forces, as well as cutting down the Marshal of the Eastern Hundred, Odovar. The chieftain's strategies were undone however, when a contingent of shilders under the command of the lad Tol infiltrated his lines and then Tol himself defeated Makaralonga in single combat. The young Ergothian spared the chieftain's life in exchange for his surrender.
The chieftain was taken to Caergoth where he was sentenced to death. As Tol had given his word to spare the chieftain's life, he took Makaralonga out to be executed and then freed the chieftain and staged his death. Makaralonga declared that Tol was his noble son and that he would henceforth be known as Voyarunta ("Uncle Corpse") and that he would ensure his tribe made peace with the Ergothians. The chieftain then sent a small contigent of tribesmen, along with his daughters Miya and Kiya to Juramona, where they offered peace between the Dom-Shu and the "grasslanders". Makaralonga further had Miya and Kiya offer themselves to Tol as his new wives.
Later Life[]
When Tol, Miya and Kiya returned to the Great Green in 2401 PC, Chief Makaralonga welcomed his two daughters and his "noble son" back with open arms. For six years, he enjoyed the company of his family, before Tol and Kiya made a return to the Ergothian Empire in 2395 PC. Shortly thereafter, Makaralonga and his daughter Miya led a war party against Tokasin's nomads who were known as enemies of the Ergothian empire. After being summarily defeated, Makaralonga, Miya and the surviving Dom-Shu fled back to the Great Green, but were captured by imperial horsemen who mistook them for nomads and enemies. The chieftain and his daughter were taken back to Caergoth and imprisoned but were released soon after by the Kender of Hylo, who were acting as allies of Lord Tolandruth. The chieftain and his fellow Dom-Shu fled back to the safety of Tol's army and re-entered Caergoth with Tol, who forced the governor to surrender the city. Once Tol's army moved on, Makaralonga returned to the Great Green with his people.
In later years, Makaralonga and his warriors hunted the largest boar that had ever been seen in the Great Green. During the hunt, the huge boar turned on the hunters and gored the chieftain, however the mighty old warrior managed to drive his spear into the boar's heart. Makaralonga and the boar died together, two great old hunters of the Great Green.
