Mudd (? AC-? AC) was a boy, with disheveled black hair and an infectious grin who lived in the village of Potter's Mill during the Fourth Age. An orphan from an early age, Mudd, and his sister Heira were taken in by the seer, Shemnara and watched after. The young man had no interest in fighting but loved to dismantle things to "figure out how they work".
In 353 AC, the village of Potter's Mill came under attack from the bandit Gadion's forces. Gadion sent a twisted magical creature called the Beast to destroy and intimidate the village. The leader of Potter's Mill, Shemnara, sent Mudd to find the heroes she had seen that would save the village. As Mudd ventured through the forest, he was captured by goblins but rescued by the young heroes that he went looking for.
Mudd escorted Davyn, Sindri Suncatcher, Nearra, Elidor, and Catriona Goodlund to the village where they met the seer, Shemnara. The seer sent the heroes away but when they did not return, Mudd became worried and went after them.
Soon after leaving the village, he was captured again, this time by Gadion's men. The young heroes Davyn and Elidor saved Mudd and sent him to warn the village of an attack by Gadion. The young man made it back to the village and Potter's Mill was ready for the attack.
