Petar Mason (? AC – 422 AC) was a male Human who was a stocky man whose mother was a cleric of Paladine and had instilled in him a deep love for the gods. He adored his wife Brandwyn Mason, with whom he had three children. Whilst Petar doted on his sons Bran Mason and Lleu Mason, he found that he did not have the same love for his middle son Rhys Mason. Because Rhys had all the traits of his mother and bore no likeness of Petar, his father long suspected that Rhys may have been the result of an affair (which he wasn't).

Because of this nagging doubt, Petar treated Rhys coldly and when his son left to become a Monk of Majere, Petar was happy to see him go. Fifteen years later in 422 AC, Petar and Brandwyn brought Lleu to see Rhys for the first time since he left home for the monastery. They had grown concerned over Lleu's strange actions of late, and sought wisdom and advice. However Lleu had already become an agent of Chemosh, and he poisoned both his parents and the monks of the monastery, causing them to all die of horrible, pain-wracked deaths.
