A Renegade Wizard is a former member of the Orders of High Sorcery who has forsaken their vows in some ways. This may mean using the secret magic from another order, violating the laws of High Sorcery, practicing forbidden magic, or openly rebelling against the Orders.
Sometimes people who gain a mastery of High Sorcery but refuse to join the orders are considered renegades. Sometimes organizations form in opposition to the Orders and the members are collectively branded Renegades. Generally, people who learn other forms of magic are not considered renegades unless they oppose the Orders or were former members.
Each Order has it's own method of addressing Renegades, either by trial, rehabilitation, censure, execution, or warfare. There are no formal rules and each renegade is treated as a unique situation.
