Rowland di Caela was the son to Gabriel the Younger and had two older brothers, but both of them died, the eldest to disease and the middle child to madness. Then finally Castle di Caela was attacked by a plague of disease carrying rats. Rowland ordered the castle evacuated, carried his father Gabriel from the castle, and then lit it on fire to purge the rats from the castle. He then rebuilt the castle from the inside out, and ruled wisely and justly for the next thirty years before the curse again returned to the family.
