A Skorenoi Centaur, which means "Fallen Ones" in Centaur Speak, are centaurs that have been turned by a Chaos creature called a Daemon Tree that were originally led by Chrethon.
Biology[]
When the daemon tree Grimbough would create them from centaurs, only about half would survive the transformation. Some die instantly, others become so badly warped they are put out of their misery. When the daemon tree drags them under ground to change them, their souls are devoured by the tree.
Skorenos move with an unnatural fluidity, but every now and then they twitch and jerk like a man stung by a wasp. The majority are shaped oddly compared to regular centaur. Some are so thin as to be skeletal, some are masses of corded muscle, while others are very obese. Some have lost patches of their hair, while others are too hairy. Legs are too short, or too long and are typically mismatched. Arms are too short, ears are like horses, and none have tails. Looking into their eyes it is dull, empty pupils with a blank, dark look, devoid of all feeling.
When someone fights a Skorenos, and kills them, the weapon that was used to kill them blows up. They are wild, undisciplined fighters, attacking with fury rather than skill. Most were killed with a battle with the Circle of Seven in 393 AC, but a few escaped and it is unknown how they can procreate.
