Tarran Ironwood (? PC - ? PC) was a male dwarf from Thorbardin that had a pale face, black beard kept trimmed and glossy, was tall and skinny for a dwarf, missing his right arm, and in his middle years in 1435 PC. He used to be right handed before losing his arm and wasn't known to be afraid of heights. He was known for being a stone-wright, but after the loss of his arm he wasn't able to do that anymore.

In 1455 PC, Tarran decided to go after a treasure horde of the dragon Claw. His brother, Yarden Ironwood, and three of their kin, Rowson, Wulf, and Oran Hammerfell, all went to the dragon's lair to get some of the treasure. Claw caught Tarran whom the dragon used as bait to lure out the others by injuring him by removing his right arm. The dragon then killed all but Tarran who was allowed to flee with the memories of seeing his bother and other kin die.
For the next twenty years he plotted his revenge, and then settled on not killing Claw, but destroying his mate's skull. He recruited Ryle Sworder and they traveled together to the lair, becoming friends along the way. Upon arriving at the dragon's lair, Tarran was quickly incapacitated again, and Claw toyed with Ryle about being a failure. Ryle sighted his arrow at Flame's skull that had been made into a shrine and threatened to destroy it. This allowed Tarran to crawl away, and just when he had run out of energy and Claw started to laugh Ryle released the arrow.
The arrow destroyed the shrine, bringing dread to Claw, but allowing for Ryle and Tarran to escape. Ryle nursed Tarran back to health, and they returned to Raven. There Ryle married Reatha, with Tarran standing at his side.
