The Gray is a limitless plane of other-dimensional nothingness, that is occupied by strange creatures, and a number of islands and random matter. Gravity does not exist in this plane, although objects and people move about through being pushed off other things, or mentally moving themselves along. Time also operates differently in the Gray, moving past more slowly than in the Material Plane. There are numerous gateways between the Gray and the normal world, many of which are guarded by Ethereal Dragons.
The Gray comprises of the three streams of the ocean of Chaos; the Plane of Shadow, the Astral Plane and the Ethereal Plane. All three realms connect and intersect with both the Outer Planes and the Material Plane. The Inner Planes emanate onto the Gray from the Outer Planes, forming pocket realms in varying parts of this transitive domain.
Pocket realms and demiplanes are dotted throughout the Gray as well, and the realm is known to be the domain of the three gods of magic, allowing them to connect to the mortal realm through their moons. Fixed portals and gateways allow access between the Material Plane and the Gray, which can be activated through considerably powerful magic.
The Gray is known to be home to a countless number of spirits, as well as to the mysterious huldrefolk.
