The Hidden Vale is the home of the gods of Balance, in the Outer Planes of the Cosmology of Krynn. The vale was built after the Dome of Creation and The Abyss, and is located between the former two realms, and is considered to be a place that is everywhere and nowhere. The Hidden Vale is surrounded by the forest of Zhan, which is the heavenly home for all elves who are deemed worthy of entrance. The realm is also the source of power for the elemental planes, which comprise the bulk of the Inner Planes, with natural elements flowing from the wellspring of the Hidden Vale directly into The Gray.
All the neutral gods have a home within the Hidden Vale, except for Lunitari who chose to dwell in The Gray back in the Age of Dreams, and also Zivilyn and Chislev who prefer to dwell in the forest of Zhan, rather than within the Vale. Even though Lunitari is no longer present in the Vale, the power of her moon is ultimately sourced from the Hidden Vale. The god Gilean has always governed and watched over the Hidden Vale. It is near impossible for a mortal to enter the Hidden Vale, except via the singular breach point, the Gate of Souls, or the direct intervention of one of the gods.
Beyond the gods, there are countless creatures that dwell in the Hidden Vale including formians, elementals, inevitables, slaadi, maruts, kolyaruts, and zelekhuts.
