The Magic of Krynn is a short story anthology, edited by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman. It is the first book in the Tales series.
This collection is truly an introduction into Krynnish lore. With a story about the unfortunate fate of those who travel into the maelstrom in the center of the Blood Sea, as well as the numerous stories about the Companions (including the recovery of the Dragon Orb from Icereach). The novella which closes the book is the story of Palin Majere, youngest son of Caramon and Tika Majere, and his Test in the Tower of High Sorcery.
