A dingy tavern located in a side street in Langtree, the Swelling Ham was aimed at the poorer folk of the town. The sign of the tavern was of a rather obese pink pig, which hung from it's entryway. The Swelling Ham was reputed for it's cheap prices and particularly poor quality of meals. A few years before the War of the Lance, it was visited by Raistlin Majere and Caramon Majere. Raistlin offered to aid the cook by using garlic in the meal (something which the cook had never heard of). In a short time, the Swelling Ham suddenly started producing higher quality meals and became a significantly improved establishment.
