Tower of High Sorcery at Kal-Thax was one of the Towers of High Sorcery that was going to be built to assist wizards in their research, control, and study of magic. Three wizards by the names of Megistal, Sigamon, and Tantas came to the dwarven lands of Kal-Thax around 2128 PC. They came without permission of the dwarven Thanes of Thorbardin.

On a place the dwarves call Sheercliff, the three began their testing of the land with mirrors and stones. For several dozen days the three worked hard on trying to find all the right placements of where they would raise the tower out of the ground, and during this time they had several set backs including when the ground was set on fire and some of the stakes were burned. One cause of them casting all this magic is that they woke the Fogdrake Rage, who then tore a path of destruction across the dwarven lands.

Eventually, because these three wizards released the Fogdrake dwarves named Damon Omenborn, Copper Blueboot, and Tag Salan came to investigate. Tantas killed Copper when his lighting cause Copper's horse to fall on him, but the other two ignored the effects of magic and Damon climbed to the top of Sheercliff. There he confronted the three wizards, killing Tantas, sending Sigamon running, and capturing Megistal. The Stone of Threes of Kal-Thax was picked up by a kender named Shillitec Medina Quickfoot.

Word got back to Kistilan that the stone had been taken and he declared war on the dwarves of Thorbardin which began the Wizard's War. During this conflict, the wizards ended up losing the war and Shillitec had traded away the Stone of Threes of Kal-Thax to a shopkeeper. The shopkeeper threw the stone away and a Klar Dwarf farmer found it and fed it to his tractor worm, which promptly ate the stone and the Tower of Kal-Thax was not to be.

Kender Tales[]

In some references from history, this tower was thought to become the second tower built by the wizards. In all actuality, the tower most likely would have been the sixth built after the other five towers.
