Dragonlance Wiki

Tramd o' the Dark (? AC - Summer, 355 AC), born Tramd Stonestrike, was a male Mountain Dwarf mage that was fairly strong in magic. He would use different avatars to interact with people away from his real body and fortress. This body was completely helpless and over the years his flesh scaled, he had rotten teeth, and his beard became white and in tatters.

Early Life[]

Before Tramd took his Test of High Sorcery (sometime before 142 AC) he was very strong and a hearty dwarf, but the test ruined his body so badly that he kept himself alive by force of will and his magic. He was left blind, and couldn't leave his bed or feed himself due to both his arms and legs no longer working. He could create avatars to interact with the world, and would change them like most people change clothes. His true body would remain at his citadel on Karthay

War of the Lance[]

During the War of the Lance, he worked for Phair Caron as her mage through an avatar. Most people thought he was mysterious and would shapeshift into a human, dwarf, or ogre. While in the Red Dragonarmy he mainly looked like a human barbarian with thick blonde hair and a beard, and would ride on a red dragon named Doom. He participated in the invasion of Nordmaar and The Silvanesti Campaign, and killed Tellin Windglimmer right in front of Dalamar before his avatar faded to dust.

Post War of the Lance[]

He then chose to work for Kitiara Uth Matar attempting to build her Flying Citadels, and would still visit the Tower of High Sorcery at Wayreth. Ladonna knew he was a follower of Takhisis, but couldn't kick him from the tower as he would bring Magic Items and magic books to the Tower. Eventually he retreated back to his castle, that was under the protection of Blade and other dwarves that were outcasts from their own clans. The Conclave of Wizard sent Dalamar and Regene to put a stop to him.

After defeating Blade, Tramd captures the two, and just as he was able to kill Dalamar, Regene stepped in and took the blade meant for Dalamar. Dalamar then kills Tramd's dwarven avatar, and finds him laying in his bed helpless. As Tramd begs for his life, Dalamar uses an axe to behead him, ending the life of a Renegade Wizard.
