Tythonnia was a pudgy and stout human woman in the Age of Despair. She was raised a farmer and became a red robed wizard a few years before her cousin Justarius did. She was sent on a mission with Par-Salian and Ladonna in her twenties and became close with them. After the mission, she quit the Orders of High Sorcery and went into hiding.

Early Life[]

Tythonnia grew up on a family farm and enjoyed it, learning hard work and horse riding. When it became apparent that she had magical potential, she trained under a local woman Desmora in the art of Wyldling Magic. It was difficult and scary but Tythonnia mastered some skills. While still young, Tythonnia had a romantic relationship with a girl Elisa. Her parents forbid them to see each other and Tythonnia denied any lesbian intrest to avoid disappointing them.

At some point she was recognized by a Wizard of High Sorcery and became an apprentice of Amma Batros, an Ergothian Red Wizard. Amma hired Serarius to train Tythonnia in combat magic as preparation for the Test of High Sorcery. Her Test directly attacked her own self deceptions about her sexuality and she immolated herself to escape. It was commented on that she seemed unscathed by the test and it was difficult to spot the haunted look many wizards have when talking about the Test.

Red Wizard[]

Tythonnia continued to be mentored by Amma Batros. In her mid-twenties she was chosen to go on a mission with Par-Salian and Ladonna to infiltrate a group of renegade wizards led by a former Red Wizard Berthal. The relationships were rocky but she became close friends with them.

During the mission she became romantically involved with Berthal. She eventully decided to stop lying to herself about everything. She broke things off with Berthal and resumed using Wyldling magic. She concluded that he was correct in his opposition to the Orders and became a double agent for the renegades, returning to the Tower of Wayreth to steal a book for him. Berthal used the ritual in book to open a gate to a demiplane that he hoped would be a refuge for renegade wizards. The black robes had set a trap and the gate opened to horrid place full of undead. Berthal and almost all of his group were killed. Par-Salian and Ladonna returned to rescue Tythonnia, saving only her, Mariyah, and one child.

Later Life[]

Tythonnia and Mariyah went into hiding in Palanthas and married. They moved in with Rosie the blacksmith, Ladonna's adoptive mother, who Tythonnia had met on her mission. Tythonnia gave birth to a son and named him Berthal, after his father. They converted the smithy into a school for the local children and retained the place after Rosie died.

Eight or nine years later, Ladonna visited with baby Kira. She asked Tythonnia to adopt her and she agreed. Ladonna said that it was her child with Par-Salian, but she had a cover story that it was her former mentor Arianna's child which she was sending on a boat to Palanthas and the boat would be lost at sea.

Tythonnia secretly taught Wyldling magic to her children and possibly to others in her school. She looked forward to a day when the Orders would finally face retribution for the harm they caused to so many people.
