Transferring Content

If you are moving content from the other wiki to here, have you tried using Import/Export? MediaWiki provides that tool just for this purpose. Import/Export can preserve the history of articles as well. At the very least, you should give acknowledgement to where the material came from, as per the CC-by-SA license.

That said, you might want to wait until this wiki is moved to the new platform that is running the latest version of MediaWiki. Content pages are probably fine, but templates and things may behave differently or be broken between there and here. Let me know if you have any questions. —Moviesign (talk) 00:19, August 12, 2020 (UTC)

The original material is things that I have written and I can give credit to Dragonlance Lexicon if needed as they were stored there and I help manage the page.  I am working to populate the page waiting on the move to the new platform as it is woefully uniformative, until now.  I'll update the about page to give credit.  (Gerran Hammerstrike (talk) 01:26, August 14, 2020 (UTC))

As you probably noticed, the wiki is now running on the latest version of MediaWiki. You should be able to use Special:Export on the lexicon wiki and Special:Import on this wiki to make your transfers easier. —Moviesign (talk) 13:05, 20 August 2020 (UTC)
The export of your main, talk, category, and template namespaces is about 22Mb, which is pretty large and might cause a timeout when importing. I recommend breaking it into smaller pieces. Would you like me to do the export/import? Or are you being selective on what you bring over? Let me know. —Moviesign (talk) 13:44, 20 August 2020 (UTC)
I will discuss this but I believe that our best option is to being selective about is added to the wiki. If we change our mind here in a few days we will let you know. Thanks for the assistance and the updated stuff looks great. Gerran Hammerstrike (talk) 16:54, 24 August 2020 (UTC)
