Valdid (? - 2401 PC) was a Noble of Ergoth who was of the Pakin family. However Valdid had sworn himself in service to the throne of Ergoth, and was thus accepted by the Ackals, at first becoming the tutor of Amaltar, Crown Prince of Ergoth. The Pakin noble rose to prominence under Amaltar in 2416 PC, serving the Crown Prince of Ergoth as his second chamberlain. Valdid was described as a vain man, who was always immaculately dressed and bore himself with pride. The nobleman's most distinguished feature was his rather bulbous nose, however he was also particularly intelligent and advised Amaltar well in his early years.
In his earlier days, Valdid married the noblewoman Pernina, who bore him a number of children. He was succeeded by two sons, Talmaz and Vorkai, and four daughters, the youngest of which was Valaran, a beautiful child who was destined to become Empress of Ergoth.
After aiding Amaltar during the campaign against the tribesmen of the Great Green in 2416 PC, Valdid returned to Daltigoth with his liege, where he continued to serve the royal family in the role of chamberlain once more. Whilst Valdid found that he worked well with Amaltar, he was often on the receiving end of Prince Nazramin's violent outbursts.
Serving the Emperor[]
By 2414 PC, Valdid had already become Amaltar's shadow, serving the emperor in every capacity faithfully, and continued in his role until 2401 PC, when his master became the Emperor of Ergoth. In 2401 PC, Valdid managed all administrative matters for the emperor, but was overshadowed by the wizard Mandes, as a chief advisor to the ruler.
With the departure of the treacherous wizard Mandes in late 2401 PC, Valdid assumed the role of chief advisor to the emperor once more. However in a short time after this, Ackal IV would sicken and die, through the treachery of his brother Nazramin, who still controlled the magic image of the emperor. Nazramin then seized the throne for himself, forcing Crown Prince Hatonar to cede the throne. Lord Valdid spoke out against Nazramin for his actions, and in response, the new ruler of Ergoth had Lord Valdid executed.
