Varvil is a village located on the edge of the Raging Ice of Southern Ergoth on the shore of Lake Morgash near Crystal Bridge.

Pre-Cataclysm[]

Prior to the Cataclysm Varvil was part of the Empire of Ergoth located in the Heartland Hundred province, north of the Dalti River.

Age of Despair[]

Varvil survived the cataclysm but the landscape around it changed leaving the village on the shore of the newly formed Morgash Bay. During the Age of Despair Dalevil became a thriving fishing village and one of the primary sources of food for Fairkeep and Zhea Harbor, whose populations had swelled with refugees fleeing Daltigoth. Unfortunately for the villagers Varvil was ruled by a series of lords who oversaw production from their castle in the village and worked the villagers like slaves, only allowing them to keep enough food to survive.

During the War of the Lance the current lord was deposed and replaced with an ogre slavemaster under the command of Hammerfall, son of Stormogre. The lives of the villagers changed little under the ogres who continued to oppress them.

Age of Mortals[]

With the arrival of the Dragon Overlord Gellidus on Southern Ergoth the landscape around Varvil was radically altered. The ground became permanently frozen and the village was cut off from the ocean when the glacier called Crystal Bridge sealed the entrance of Morgash Bay turning it into Lake Morgash. Varvil was then enslaved by white dragonspawn and most of its population were captured and taken to Khimel to be converted into spawn.

As of 422 AC half of Varvil population is made up of children to young to be converted. The village is overseen by Slavemaster Thrak, a dragonspawn in charge of trafficking slaves and maintaining Varvil’s fishing industry.
