Wulfgar is a small walled city in the nation of Nordmaar, which is located southwest of North Keep just on the northern fringes of the Southern Wastes. The city spans one mile in diameter, is inhabited by the Huitzitlic tribe and is governed by the Khan of the Southern Wastes. In the centre of the town is the Horseman’s Arena, a great arena where warriors fight through mounted combat to prove themselves, or where criminals fight for their freedom.

The inner circle of the city is raised twenty feet above the outer circle, and spans half a mile in diameter, and is surrounded by an interior wall. The streets and buildings of Wulfgar are constructed from clay brick, and are kept clean of refuse. On all four sides of the city are huge bronze gates that are flanked by watchtowers, and are the only means of access in and out of the city. The bronze gates stand at twenty feet tall, and the surrounding wall of Wulfgar stands at forty feet tall and is made from basalt. Within the city is an elaborate sewer system and communal wells stand in every residential block. Irrigation channels lead from the city to the surrounding fields, ensuring decent crops throughout all the seasons.

The land upon which Wulfgar stands was originally one of the winter sites of the Huitzitlic tribe. However the War of the Sky showed the Horselords that they needed defensible outposts, and their new allies, the Solamnics aided them in building the city in 210 AC. Located close by to the Solamnic outpost of Qwes, Wulfgar’s walls serve to drive off marauding ogres and the enemies of Nordmaar for several hundred years.

In 348 AC, the Red Dragonarmy launched their invasion into the northern realm, utterly destroying Qwes and heading straight for Wulfgar. The city was unprepared for an aerial assault and was easily taken and claimed by Rivven Cairn, Dragon Highmaster, who occupied Wulfgar. It was several years after the closure of the War of the Lance that the Whitestone forces arrived and drive out the remaining occupying force of the Red Dragonarmy.

The Chaos War saw an infestation of shadow wights sweep through the city and wipe many residents from existence. However the shadow wights were soon driven out and the city began to rebuild once more. In the latter part of the Age of Mortals, the city has been revitalised, becoming more populous than ever.
